Training

Training Packages – Susan has partnered with George Smith, of Summit Consultants to share their knowledge about how to make meetings more effective. George is a CPF and CPF Assessor and together they develop and deliver customized training to their clients. The following are in-house training sessions that are customized to fit client needs.

Training session are 1 to 3 days in length and range from $4,000 to $10,000. Training is customized to fit your organization and training materials are included.

Facilitation Basics (3 day)
A highly interactive training session for up to 16 participants who lead meetings and work sessions. Taught by Certified Professional Facilitators who are also experienced trainers.

Introduction to Facilitation Basics (1 day)
A training session for up to 32 participants who lead meetings and work sessions. An overview of Facilitation Basics session designed to introduce participants to basic facilitation techniques.

Advanced Facilitation

Create a Detailed Facilitation Plan (1 day)
A highly interactive training session designed for meeting leaders who understand the basics of facilitating collaborative work sessions and productive meetings. During this one day course participants will learn the components of and thought that goes into developing a detailed facilitation plan. As a result of this training, participants will:
  • Understand how to work with the sponsor to clearly articulate the group's scope of authority
  • Create a participant profile based on sponsor and participant interviews
  • Select appropriate facilitation tools and techniques for each agenda item
  • Design customized approaches for facilitated sessions with a greater understanding of group divergent and convergent thinking
Plan Large Group and Virtual Meetings (1 day)
A highly interactive training session designed for meeting leaders who understand the basics of facilitating collaborative work sessions and productive meetings. During this one day course participants will learn how to use facilitation processes, tools, and techniques in large group and non-collocated sessions. As a result of this training, participants will:
  • Gain an understanding of a variety of large group processes and techniques
  • Design a large group session
  • Compare and contrast facilitating face to face versus virtual
  • Apply basic facilitation tools and techniques to virtual
Participants will benefit from extensive discussion of processes, tools and techniques and learn from Certified Professional Facilitators.

The Facilitative Leader (2 day) – a highly interactive training session for up to 16 participants – supervisors, managers, directors, V.P.s, project managers and team leaders. Leaders who are proficient with basic facilitation skills are able to channel the expertise of the individuals in their teams whether direct reports or matrix organizations to produce desired results.

As a result of this training, participants will:
  • Gain an understanding of the characteristics of a facilitative leader and when facilitative leadership is appropriate – when and how much collaboration is necessary/needed
  • Be able to conduct effective meetings by creating an environment where innovation and creativity flourish
  • Learn collaborative decision making tools. Ensure alignment with mission, vision, values and gain commitment for results
  • Learn how to give feedback, manage conflict and resolve disputes skillfully
